Jan Charlesworth

Partner, Audit and Assurance

Jan is a Partner in the audit department and has been an integral part of the firm’s listed audit sector, with a specialised portfolio of clients in the retail, energy (renewables, oil, and gas), pharma/life sciences and tech sectors. He is a specialist in both IFRS reporting and UK GAAP and enjoys advising and guiding clients through complex technical matters.

Jan joined Gravita in 2020 after 15 years at a Top 5 audit firm where as an extended part of his role he headed up their People Team in audit and specialised in the Real Estate sector. In 2021, Jan was recognised as part of the team that won the ‘Accounting Excellence Specialist’ team of the year, for the team’s services as auditors to small-cap companies listed on AIM.

Jan ensures key milestones are met during the audit delivery, and places emphasis on team communication to mitigate any roadblocks. Jan is committed on delivering value to clients throughout their journey with Gravita, from initial contact meetings to producing key insights in the audit conclusions report, he always aims to exceed client expectations.

When Jan’s not working, he enjoys supporting Barnsley Football Club, both home and away, and spending time at home with his family.
