Top 30 accountancy firm Gravita appoints Fiona Cross and releases data on gender diversity at Partner level.

LONDON, [22 November] 2024: Top 30 accountancy firm Gravita has bolstered its team with the appointment of Corporate and International Tax specialist, Fiona Cross. Fiona brings several decades of experience at Partner level in tax advisory, working with a variety of organisations from start-ups to large multinational groups.

Fiona has specialist expertise in transfer pricing and has previously initiated and chaired an international steering group across multiple firms and countries, promoting best practice in this field.

She has extensive experience advising international and AIM listed companies on large acquisitions and disposals, conducting tax due diligence on behalf of the buyer. In addition, she advises on navigating EIS, SEIS, EMI and employee ownership trust (EOT) schemes on behalf of her clients.

Following the successful integration of Critchleys, Gravita now has 44 talented Partners, of whom 30% are female. Figures from across the industry show that, on average, only 18% of Partners at accountancy firms are women.[1] Gravita continues to push the boundaries of traditional accounting stereotypes and tech-enablement, spearheaded by CEO Caroline Plumb OBE.

Gravita’s headcount has grown to over 400, following the integration of Critchleys in 2024, Davis Grant and Carter Backer Winter (CBW) in 2023 and Arram Berlyn Gardner (ABG) and Propel (formerly part of Deloitte) in 2022.

Caroline Plumb, CEO at Gravita said: “We’re delighted to welcome Fiona to the team. Her expertise in international tax, including transfer pricing, will be particularly valuable for many of our international clients here at Gravita.

Alongside our partnership strategy, we are focusing on driving growth at Gravita organically, through internal hires and promotions. I’m particularly proud of our female talent within the company, and we hope to increase female representation at Partner level further in the years to come.”

Fiona Cross, Tax Partner at Gravita said: “When I started out in my career over 30 years ago, on average, only 4% of Partners were female. I’m proud to join a firm with such impressive female talent at a leadership level. The opportunity to join Gravita presented an exciting opportunity to join a larger firm, with a broad and varied client base across many sectors and geographies. I look forward to working with many of these businesses in the months and years ahead.”
