IHT planning

Inheritance Tax Update & Planning

Inheritance Tax (IHT) is one of the most vilified taxes. It is also probably, in practice, the one tax which a lot of people do not plan sufficiently well in advance for, and its impact can be devastating.

It is vital that clients take well constructed IHT advice as early as possible from an IHT specialist who can look at the facts and aims and then plan accordingly. Clients must structure their affairs so as to successfully claim the considerable IHT reliefs and exemptions that are available.

This webinar will be hosted by Gravita Tax Consultant, Tim Palmer and presented by our Tax Partner Michaela Lamb.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday 11 April 2024

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Even though the Chancellor’s Spring Budget 2024 didn’t bring in the dramatic abolition of IHT that had been rumoured. There were a number of changes to the IHT system that will affect currently non UK domiciled individuals and potentially trusts related to them.

Gravita’s upcoming IHT seminar, will provide a refresher on the current IHT rules as well as an overview of what the potential changes for non-doms could look like.

During this concise yet insightful webinar, we will explore the following pivotal topics:

  • IHT…Where are we now
  • IHT planning and minimising the IHT hit
  • Avoiding falling foul of the gift with reservation of benefit (GROB) anti-avoidance legislation
  • Successfully claiming IHT Business Property Relief
  • The use of trusts and other such vehicles
  • An illustration of the reliefs and exemptions available
  • General overview
