We invite you to our comprehensive webinar co-hosted with JPC. Join us as we delve into the tax, VAT and legal nuances around commercial property transactions, which can be intrinsically entwined so we can pre-empt the issues HMRC will raise in many circumstances.
DATE: 9am – 10am
TIME: Wednesday 5 February
Areas our panel will delve into include:
- Debt structuring, to include cross border withholding taxes and splitting of titles
- Capital allowances
- CPSEs (commercial property standard enquiries) and why they are so important
- Acquisitions and disposals –your whistle stop tour on transactions and how they usually work, including structures and processes, and what to build into your due diligence
- Re-organisations and when fund structures are no longer fit for purpose – including some real-life war stories
- When transactions go wrong…to include when an advisor on the other side makes a mistake, TOGCs, DIY law (!), SDLT, ransom strips and time of essence/notice to complete!
- Conversions and our top 5 areas to consider
Our panel will talk you through the direct and indirect tax, and legal implications of some of the most common (and costly) problem areas we come across in commercial property and how they can be avoided with careful planning. From transferring properties into different companies (including pension funds), SDLT hurdles and looking at the reliefs available, we’ll take you through the fundamentals of ensuring your commercial property business is structured properly for tax purposes and future proofed for your next transaction.
We will also advise on regimes that will assist with cashflow, particularly relevant when you’re going through a transaction.
As we have the UK Budget on Wednesday 30 October, we will make sure to factor in any changes to this webinar.
By signing up to this webinar, you agree to share your data with Gravita and JPC, for the purposes of contacting you about relevant content and services.
